Hello 2015

It's a new year! I've always loved the first day of things, like the first day of school (because there's no homework yet and there are pretty school supplies to organize) and... the first day of the year. So I devote this whole entire post to talking all about my plans for 2015. WAHOO.

It wouldn't be a new year if I didn't make a list of resolutions so I decided to make a regular one and use a bookish one I found on Pinterest. :)

I'm so excited about my resolutions! Especially the book challenge one. I tend to get stuck reading in a particular genre, so it'll be good for me to expand my reading experience. :)

I will have an update here on my blog whenever I finish one of the books in the 50-book Pinterest challenge, sometimes I might just talk about it in a short post, or talk about how I found it, or what it taught me, or it might be just a regular book review where I mark it off the list at the beginning of the post (or something awesome like that). Anyways, I will be updating!

And of course it wouldn't be a new year without the Goodreads Challenge. *happy dance*

It's purple, guys.

Last year, I had the goal of reading 150 books which I did not accomplish (boo) so I thought I'd give myself a reasonable goal that I'll probably meet without a problem. Hopefully, I can get all this stuff done. Lists make me happy. :D

What are your New Year's Resolutions? If resolutions aren't your thing, are there other goals you want to accomplish as you go?

  2. Nice resolutions. :) I put down exercising more, too. But it isn't particularly "fun" for me, even though it's healthy and necessary, so I'm bribing myself with "Doctor Who" episodes.

Hey, my friend's library used that same challenge, too! I printed it out and taped it to my bookshelf, so hopefully I'll get a lot of those done.

Your mom doesn't read English books? Does she speak another language?

    1. Bribing sounds like a good strategy to me. :D Exercising is no fun for me either... I mean, if you can exercise or read a book, what are you going to do? ;)

That's awesome! The list has such a variety of books that I thought it would be cool. I really want to finish the whole thing but we'll see.

Yeah, my mom's native languages are actually Chinese & Taiwanese. :) She can speak good English and she can read it too, it's just not as enjoyable for her as her first language.

    2. That's so cool. :) My parents are going to teach my brother and me Portuguese this year, since my mom's 100% Portuguese and all of our relatives on her side speak it as their first language.

    3. That's awesome! I don't think I even know what Portuguese sounds like *stares at feet* Definitely gonna check that out :)

I always think it's so neat when someone whose native language is English and who grew up in America or Great Britain etc. is half something else. It just gives you a whole different culture to explore :D
