F is for Friday [3/23]

Image
It has been a ride  this semester let me tell you. I came back to school thinking that it would be a chill, not-relaxing-but-not-crazy last semester. A nice note to end on. My friends, it has been crazy, and this month was no exception. So this Friday is kind of a catch-up day for me. This morning I had work (👉 student worker 👈), after work I dropped my laptop off at a repair shop so they could finish installing a piece that I've been waiting for for a few weeks, and then I came home to my apartment and started cleaning and airing out because BOY does it need it. And it was finally nice weather! (It was snowy only a couple days ago. Tennessee is a mess.) Then I took a nap because, I mean, is an explanation ever necessary for a nap? No, but it's because I was exhausted and couldn't focus on doing any homework. ðŸ˜‚ That brings me to the point of this post which is a weekly meme, F is for Friday, hosted by Nomadic Worlds . I needed to decompress a little bit mo...

A (College) Senior Moment

Image
Yes, this a play on words. Yes, I'm a senior. Yes, school has started. I'm fine. Recently, I was reading all of my blog posts about college life, which I really enjoyed, and I realized that I haven't written anything for senior year yet. Which I need to memorialize, because it's senior year. The wobbly stepping stone between adulthood and whatever the weird in-between phase college was. It's full of, you know, responsibilities that are just lurking around every corner. Every. corner. This year includes some semi-big changes like moving into my first apartment on my own, without a roommate--the same roommate that I've had for three years. I don't have super strong feelings about this. I never had one of those horrible roommate experiences that you hear about all the time when you're a freshman (and for the rest of college). We were in a very neutral, chill zone of friendship or maybe acquaintanceship that never quite reached close frien...

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GRAPHIC DESIGN STUDENT

Image
author's note : this was actually written on and is about February 7th. enjoy! 9 am - The alarm on my phone goes off. I hate the noise so much, and I used to have it on just vibrate, but I've been so tired and busy this school year that I'm too scared to do that anymore. This is one of my late morning days. On Mondays and Wednesdays I get up at 7. ðŸ˜’ 9:15 am - I manage to actually get out of bed. 9:30 am -  Take a shower. 10 am - I check all my social media and try to make sense of this week's to-do list. Feel strong waves of despair as I look at the 8 homework assignments for Professional Practices (plus other homework and projects for other classes) to be completed in a week. Check my student email. Boring stuff. the set-up 10:30 am -  I start working on my heart art that's due tomorrow afternoon. In my defense, I've had an extremely busy, stressful past couple days. Hopefully I can work on it more later and write my art analysis on it. ...

JANUARY RECAP

Image
The last half of this month has kind of been a whirlwind...moving back to school, organizing everything again , getting into the routine of five classes (two of which are 3 hours each). It's probably life making up for the first half of the month in which I was shamefully lazy and did nothing.     Instructions for Flight by Kate I. Foley  🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 ( review here , but  👌) The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West  🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 ( 💗 I love it SO much ) On the Fence by Kasie West  🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 (TBH this was leaning more towards 3 but relatable guy problems yo) It wasn't a big reading month. I guess I've been going through a slump and nothing really interests me (except YA contemporaries *gasp*). Or else I don't have the energy/attention span to sit down and actually read a book. One of the delights of being a lot more anxious and stressed out at school. Sometimes, okay most of the time, I'd rather watch YouTube or the latest TV series...

2016 END OF YEAR RECAP // HELLO 2017

Image
I can't believe 2016 is over already (and omg I'm so sorry about how late this is). More than other years, this one has just flown by without any breathers. A lot of good things happened and a lot of meh things happened. I can't believe I'm halfway done with my third year of college OR that it's almost time to go back to school and be about that grind again. I ACTUALLY COMPLETED MY 2016 READING CHALLENGE ON GOODREADS. This is the first time I've ever actually done that so I'm kind of (very. I'm very) excited. It feels so good! So, yeah. It's not a lot but that's not the point. The point is I finished something and set myself reachable goals, which I need to remember to do in the future.  Thus I am just increasing my goal by ten books for 2017. That's 45 books which is very reasonable and about 3.75 books per month. I think  I can do it.  SHORTEST BOOK A Gallagher Wedding by Ally Carter 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 12 p...
