Sunday Swoons | Roses are Red...You are Creepy

Image
The image below was placed there because I like it. It's pretty. Also, the quote is a necessity, I think, in any relationship. source @freegreatimages.com I'm so sorry that I have been very absent from the blog, but college is proving to be very challenging. I've got something due every week it feels like and when I have free time I'd usually rather spend it wasting my time listening to kpop or watching funny vlogs. Which, of course, is very un-bloggerly of me but...eh, what can you do. But this week I have come with a Sunday Swoons post! Sadly, Briana can't join in since she has no wi-fi. I think we need to send her kind thoughts and tons of virtual gifts to make up for that, don't you? No wi-fi. *shudders* Therefore, I shall be surging forward to host Sunday Swoons today. If you'd link up, it would make me and Briana very happy! (Or at least B will be when she finds out ;)) (You can find a more complete set of rules here .) Our topic...

Sunday Swoons | Romantic Writings

Image
(More detailed rules can be found here .) This Week's Topic: Romantic Writings | Talk about couples that you have created in your books, stories, and worlds. That's basically the only requirement so have fun with it. :) Romance in My Writing I have never written a complete book, and honestly, I haven't gone too far in writing relationships yet either. So this will just be me rambling about the kinds of couples I tend to write and maybe snippets of what I have written for my couples.  source @ Pinterest I'm a big fan of "one and only" couples so that's usually what I write. I don't want to write stories about people who are only together for a short period of time. I want people to believe in true love and loyalty (since that's such a hard concept to grasp in all these current novels) and that it lasts . Not all guys are players, not all girls are flirts.  source @ Pinterest Before anything else, I want my couples to b...

Sunday Swoons | Diversity in Relationships (LATE I'M SORRY)

Image
This week we're discussing diversity in couples. As always, GO CHECK OUT BRIANA'S POST. Oh, sorry, *smiles sweetly* didn't mean to scare you. Please go (That was better, right?). For a more detailed list of rules, you can go here . Diversity in Couples This is a very relevant topic, that hasn't been dealt with enough. According to me. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this post because I'm already two days late (bad, Skylar) but it's definitely something that is very important, maybe even more so to me since my mom and dad are different races and, when they met, they had different religious beliefs too.  But for now I'm going to focus more on the "race" part. Mostly I'll be focusing on it as it relates to America, but if you have comments and input on it whether you're from America or not feel free to. :)  This is SO important. America is a nation of diversity, with many different kinds of people. Why isn't ...

Sunday Swoons | Couples on Covers & Dancing in Love

Image
Heyyy. This is a double post since Briana was awesome and was chill with me taking a weekend off because of me being overwhelmed with school (I'm a freshmen in college if you didn't know). Originally, I was just going to skip last week's topic. However  I thought about it and decided that I would have time to write a little bit about it and  today's topic. It's late, but I say better late than never. Last week's topic was Couples on Covers . Briana and I thought this would be a good topic because there is no arguing that there is tons  of disagreement over couple-y covers, on whether we like them or not, or if we like one type over another. It's such a relevant topic. So have fun with it! I can't wait to see what you do with the topic. :) For a specific list of rules, you can visit my Sunday Swoons page. But the basics are-- please give credit to me for the link-up picture, link back to us either through me or Briana, and have fun. :) Also...

This is our second week co-hosting! (For some reason I always forget to add certain parts to these posts and add them later. Oops.) We've been having a blast coming up with topics and working together, and it'd be awesome if you  had a blast by doing the link-up too. ;) Make sure to stop by Briana's post and comment because she's the (duh) amazing creator of Sunday Swoons and you need to recognize her greatness. :D Rules: 1.  You're welcome (and, in fact, encouraged ;)) to use my/our button in your post, just please cite me as the source. 2.  You can post in whatever style you would like:  list, discussion,  etc. as long as what you are talking about goes with the topic for the week. 3.  You either must follow the topic given OR you can do a pos...

Sunday Swoons

Image
My first, may I add, Sunday Swoons as co-hoster of...well...Sunday Swoons. It feels awesome. :D It has been great working with Briana! She's fun and SO nice, so you should totally go check out her blog . Like right now. Shoo. I think you'll like this post as I happen to know for a fact that many of you are fans of chocolate. I was right, wasn't I? This week's theme: If Couples Were Food... (Pick any kind of food to compare fictional couples to.) The rules are simple. 1. You're welcome (and encouraged) to use the Sunday Swoons button, but remember to cite me as the source. 2. You can post in whatever style you like--list, discussion, etc. as long as you follow the topic we give OR you can do a post on the opposite of the given topic. 3. Your posts don't have to have anything to do with books you're reading right now, they can be past reads as well. (It's nice if you put a link to the Goodreads page of the book or some o...

Announcement: The Sunday Swoons Link-Up

Image
Surprise! You may have noticed that I take part in a link-up called Sunday Swoons once in a while. Well, recently the completely awesomesauce creator of Sunday Swoons Briana (from Reader, Writer, Critic ) invited me to co-host it with her! I accepted (duh) and now we're just working together to brainstorm topics and improve it to the best it can be. This next Sunday we'll be hosting our first dual Sunday Swoons posts. :D I'm so excited about this! Thank you a million red M&M's, Briana. <3 So...my blogglings...Come to the dark side and take part in this awesomeness. *wiggles eyebrows* Wait. You want to know what it's all about? I mean...okay. Even though it sounds good enough for you to join no questions asked, right? ;) Let's dive in. Sunday Swoons is where you talk about the topic of choice (*cough* our choice) related to romance. This gives you an excuse to gush over and rant about all things romantical. And if anyone is like, "Why ar...

Sunday Swoons #1: 5 of My All Time Favorite/Most Swoon Worthy YA Relationships

Image
This is a brand new link-up hosted by Briana @Reader, Writer, Critic . Every Sunday Briana is going to discuss, list, rave about, fangirl (or fanboy) about, quote, or mention something totally swoon worthy that she's read. AND all you have to do to join in is link back using the handy linky button that will be on her posts and mention her in your post. Check out her first post here . This is going to be so fun! (Even though I'm joining late) 5 of My All Time Favorite/Most Swoon Worthy YA Relationships (not in order) 1. Mara & Noah from The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer .  What can I say? Mara and Noah are meant for each other. They are both broken but they hold each other together. There's physical attraction, yes, but it's more than that. Mara insults Noah! I mean, come one, that alone gives them many points. I ship them SO HARD.  2. Joy & Indelible Ink from Indelible . Joy and Indelible Ink were just so gosh dang sweet together. I l...
