Sunday Swoons | Roses are Red...You are Creepy

Image
The image below was placed there because I like it. It's pretty. Also, the quote is a necessity, I think, in any relationship. source @freegreatimages.com I'm so sorry that I have been very absent from the blog, but college is proving to be very challenging. I've got something due every week it feels like and when I have free time I'd usually rather spend it wasting my time listening to kpop or watching funny vlogs. Which, of course, is very un-bloggerly of me but...eh, what can you do. But this week I have come with a Sunday Swoons post! Sadly, Briana can't join in since she has no wi-fi. I think we need to send her kind thoughts and tons of virtual gifts to make up for that, don't you? No wi-fi. *shudders* Therefore, I shall be surging forward to host Sunday Swoons today. If you'd link up, it would make me and Briana very happy! (Or at least B will be when she finds out ;)) (You can find a more complete set of rules here .) Our topic...

Sunday Swoons | Romantic Writings

Image
(More detailed rules can be found here .) This Week's Topic: Romantic Writings | Talk about couples that you have created in your books, stories, and worlds. That's basically the only requirement so have fun with it. :) Romance in My Writing I have never written a complete book, and honestly, I haven't gone too far in writing relationships yet either. So this will just be me rambling about the kinds of couples I tend to write and maybe snippets of what I have written for my couples.  source @ Pinterest I'm a big fan of "one and only" couples so that's usually what I write. I don't want to write stories about people who are only together for a short period of time. I want people to believe in true love and loyalty (since that's such a hard concept to grasp in all these current novels) and that it lasts . Not all guys are players, not all girls are flirts.  source @ Pinterest Before anything else, I want my couples to b...

Sunday Swoons | Diversity in Relationships (LATE I'M SORRY)

Image
This week we're discussing diversity in couples. As always, GO CHECK OUT BRIANA'S POST. Oh, sorry, *smiles sweetly* didn't mean to scare you. Please go (That was better, right?). For a more detailed list of rules, you can go here . Diversity in Couples This is a very relevant topic, that hasn't been dealt with enough. According to me. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this post because I'm already two days late (bad, Skylar) but it's definitely something that is very important, maybe even more so to me since my mom and dad are different races and, when they met, they had different religious beliefs too.  But for now I'm going to focus more on the "race" part. Mostly I'll be focusing on it as it relates to America, but if you have comments and input on it whether you're from America or not feel free to. :)  This is SO important. America is a nation of diversity, with many different kinds of people. Why isn't ...

Sunday Swoons | Couples on Covers & Dancing in Love

Image
Heyyy. This is a double post since Briana was awesome and was chill with me taking a weekend off because of me being overwhelmed with school (I'm a freshmen in college if you didn't know). Originally, I was just going to skip last week's topic. However  I thought about it and decided that I would have time to write a little bit about it and  today's topic. It's late, but I say better late than never. Last week's topic was Couples on Covers . Briana and I thought this would be a good topic because there is no arguing that there is tons  of disagreement over couple-y covers, on whether we like them or not, or if we like one type over another. It's such a relevant topic. So have fun with it! I can't wait to see what you do with the topic. :) For a specific list of rules, you can visit my Sunday Swoons page. But the basics are-- please give credit to me for the link-up picture, link back to us either through me or Briana, and have fun. :) Also...

Figments Friday {2}

Image
source: Briana  @Reader, Writer, Critic Figments Friday is a weekly feature hosted by Briana @Reader, Writer, Critic  where we share our writing and anything related--like snippets from our WIPs, character interviews, or even conversations between a character from one story and a character from another story.  Today I'm sharing another snippet from the story that I'm mainly working on now. Maybe sometime in the future I'll do an interview or something like that. :) My hand burns where it touches Keelin's. And I see flashes of images, fast as the speed of light, hurtling, zipping, careening through my mind. They are so intense--so strong--that the air itself seems to be resisting the attempts I make to breathe it in.  And worst of all. The very worst of all is the emotion that rolls so strongly through my body that I feel like vomiting up my breakfast.  I yank my hand back and give Keelin a forced small smile. "You'll be fine, sweets....

Book Cover of My Life

Image
This is kinda an awkward add-on to the Liebster that I got recently. There was a question that asked--if there was  book cover for my life, what would it look like? Well, I immediately proceeded to create a book cover and almost finished it. BUT something on my computer (I think it was a program that wasn't working then or something) wasn't working and I got frustrated *grins* and didn't finish it. Since I've learned from sources  *wiggles eyebrows* that you (Briana) really really wanted us nominees to come up with a cover...I decided that I'd finish up the tiny bit that needed done and put it here. HAPPY (late) BIRTHDAY, GIRL. :) This basically describes my life right now. Music is awesome and a huge part of my life. Lists are life-savers. And I really don't know how many I have. ;) The car on the bottom is my baby Mustang and the road kind of symbolizes my life but then it kind of symbolizes me going off to college too. I couldn't decided on o...

Sunday Swoons | Things Girls Do to Their Significant Others (That We Hate)

Image
Sunday Swoons  is a weekly feature hosted by Briana  @Reader, Writer, Critic and myself where we discuss all things romantical in fiction whether it's our favorite couples or quirkiest pick-up lines. This is our second week co-hosting! (For some reason I always forget to add certain parts to these posts and add them later. Oops.) We've been having a blast coming up with topics and working together, and it'd be awesome if you  had a blast by doing the link-up too. ;) Make sure to stop by Briana's post and comment because she's the (duh) amazing creator of Sunday Swoons and you need to recognize her greatness. :D Rules: 1.  You're welcome (and, in fact, encouraged ;)) to use my/our button in your post, just please cite me as the source. 2.  You can post in whatever style you would like:  list, discussion,  etc. as long as what you are talking about goes with the topic for the week. 3.  You either must follow the topic given OR you can do a pos...

I Have Been Given an Award~The Liebster!

Image
Briana  @Reader, Writer, Critic nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award because she's amazing. It's been a while since I've gotten any awards so thanks so much, Briana, you made my day that much more awesome . (Can I virtually hug you? 'Cause I feel like I want to virtually hug you.) Note: Feel free to use the rules design/picture I used above because I know it's waaaay easier than typing all of the rules up. I may have used some of these facts before but I can't remember right now and I'm too lazy to go back and check and just call it a refresher. ;) I know for a fact (hehe, get it?) that some of these are totally brand spankin' new.  1. I will be entering into my first (intimidating) year of college this fall. 2. When I was a baby (I'm serious...like, infant baby) I cried a lot, and my poor young dad got so fed up with it that he put chile sauce on my fingertips in order to make me stop. Well...I actually ate the chili sa...
