It's a Random Day {6}

Image
So, I got my ish together and went and checked to see what number of "It's a Random Day" posts I was actually at . I haven't done as many as I thought I had. This must be remedied.  I seem to write all these posts at the times when I least  need to be doing them and doing other things, productive things like say, finish reading my history book or studying for my Mass Communications exam tomorrow.  But, instead, let me tell you about all the extremely exciting things that happened today (by extremely I mean not. I was being sarcastic. Sometimes I'm so dryly sarcastic that my friends at college don't know if I'm for real or not.) School-wise.... it hasn't been extremely gross I guess. But kinda blegh. I'm having a hard time getting into the groove with my design project (would you like a post about my design process at some point? sorry, really random. going back to the topic...), I'm kind of just done with clay at the mom...

6 Steps to Conquering a New Semester (Kpop Style)

Image
Since I've been back at school for a week and seeing as how Kpop's such a huge part of my life now (as you probably have noticed in my song section of recaps hehe), I thought I'd incorporate it into one of my posts in a fun way. *grins* This way I get to talk about Kpop without totally losing you non-kpoppers. ;)  Welcome to my Back to School: VIXX Edition  post!  For those of you who don't know, VIXX is my favorite Kpop (that is Korean pop music) group ever. My favorite member is the cocky one who raps and... At this point you're probably rolling your eyes because everybody *cough* parents *cough* has told you this SO MANY TIMES.  But I'm here to tell you... being organized actually helps. Like a lot. I am normally a very unorganized, scatter-brained person but at school I have tons of things going on. Things with scary deadlines. Things that I have to carefully set up around each other.  So, be organized. I promised...

Popping In

Image
Hey guys. I'm tired. Like want-fall-on-my-face-and-sleep-for-nine-years tired. It's a problem. Like right now? I'm supposed to be studying for my History midterm that's happening tomorrow. My brain doesn't want to concentrate. Nghhhhh. I need winter break. Also I'm fighting a potential cold/sore throat and it sucks. Okay, okay, that's all I'm going to complain about. (For now). Hopefully, I can come back with some blog posts before finals hit and destroy me. Then winter break will come (PRAISE) and I will make myself blog and do productive things. On a side note, if any of you are looking for a K-drama to watch, go watch Sassy Go Go (aka Cheer Up! but there is no other name than Sassy Go Go in my eyes). It will drown you in bittersweetness. And feels. Just go watch it. There will be no regrets. (Also, thank you Ely for all the awesome recs. How do you get my taste in dramas so well? XD) I better save some things to say about it in ...

Life Update

Image
Hey, guys, thought I'd pop in and tell you that no, I haven't dropped off the edge of the world or been kidnapped or anything crazy. The truth (real and un-interesting) is that I've been freaking out and studying, simultaneously, because of a CLEP exam. It's tomorrow. *terrified screeches* The week after I take and hopefully pass my CLEP exam is also super busy for me since I have to get a load of school things done in about 3 and a half days before I head out with my family for our summer trip. !!!! This entails exciting things. It stars with "k" and ends with "pop." YUP. It's finally almost time to go see BTS (an awesome K-pop group that you should really check out) live . In Chicago. It will be a horrendously long road trip but it will be worth it. And because I'm a licensed driver I shall have to share the burden. >.< But again, worth it. Also, (yes there's more) I'll be meeting up Sophia from Ravens and Writing De...

Yo Ho It's a Pirate's Life for Me

Image
Hey guys, so here's the thing: I know I've been an awful blogger lately. Aka no posts whatsoever for a very long time. I'm SUPER busy as it's finals time for me, and before that I was trying to cope with having three studio classes at the same time. I've finished my final project for Drawing 1-- a still life that was a representative portrait of my sister. :) The only thing left for me to do is present it. I'm so excited. Feel the excitement burning through my veins. I took my last Music Appreciation exam today and I'm so nervous about it because I've been stressed and caught something that really felt like the flu (and I still am sick actually) so I didn't get a lot of time to study for it. Of course, I still have a presentation for this class, which includes playing the piano. I regretted my decision like five minutes after I made it but I thought it would be a good life experience. -_- And my two design classes. For one of t...

Book Covers and the Creative Process

This post is about two days late buuut I have great excuses reasons. I promise ;) I've had school, extra events to attend for my honors program, blah blah blah. It's been great. *sarcasm* Today, though, I want to tell you about an idea I had and also what my current project is in my design class. I've just started a book cover project in that class! While it's really exciting, it's also kind of terrifying since this is what I want to do when I graduate and I would really like not sucking at it. (Also, apparently the professor raises standards quite a bit the higher the class level goes.) After a little brainstorming, I thought of a few book covers from a popular YA series that I'd love to remake (because that's what we're doing, remaking covers)-- the Mortal Instruments series. I love TMI to death, but that doesn't mean I like the covers. At all. So begins my creative process to turn in sketches at the next class. Mostly, I've researched. ...

Busyness in School

Image
So, everybody at my college kinda had a second winter break when we had one week of snow days (aka Snowmageddon). This, while it was very awesome, made my class assignments and stuff all wonky.  This week is "catch-up-week". I've got big design projects to work on and exams to study for and when I'm done for the day, I just need to relax and de-socialize and do nothing for a little bit.  SO, I'm sad to say it, but it looks like I'll be taking this week (and maybe more depending on schoolwork) off of blogging. LOVE YOU GUYS. Please hang on through the drought of posts. ;) I have some good stuff in store.

Life of a Blogger: School

Image
Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature hosted by Jessi @Novel Heartbeat where bloggers talk about a different topic each Thursday that relates to everyday life. This way readers can get to know bloggers as real people who do real (boring. everyday. average.) things. As opposed to, you know, superheroes who read uncountable numbers of books by day and solve crime by night. ;) ~ I love school! I love all my classes! I love all my teachers!  Okay, sorry that was weird (and not true).  I have been homeschooled all the way through senior year of high school, which means my parents were crazy patient and resourceful and somehow taught me from kindergarten to twelfth grade. In the earlier grades, I loved school and learned really fast. And while my love of school kind of...faded...I kept doing really well.  Then I hit high school. And suddenly I had to work harder to get the same grades. There was no more coasting past classes because they were so easy. I ...

More Vlogs and Goodbye (for two weeks)

Image
I had loads of fun doing The Raven Boys vlog last time and I would love your feedback on it right here, if you don't mind. This is just so I can get a feel for how many people are actually benefiting or enjoying the vlogs I might do in the future. No pressure ;) Here's the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GHF9HZJ Thanks! Have some dessert.. I'm making myself hungry. *salivates* I'd better stop before I try to eat these delicious things off my screen. Also, I've decided to put Life of a Random on a very short hiatus. I need to pull back because my school year's winding down and I need to buckle down and do some intense studying. I say "short" because I should be back to posting regularly by the beginning of June or so. I'm really sorry but I need to concentrate on school (unfortunately). I'll still pop up around the blogosphere and comment on your blogs and I might post a couple posts here. DON'T FORGET ME. If y...

Crazy Schedule

I am feeling very accomplished today because several things on my to-do list have been checked off. I...     Submitted an essay for a scholarship in time.     Finished my reading assignment for Sociology earl y .     Got caught up on my Economics homework.      Went shopping for clothes for a scholarship banquet.      Scheduled a campus (college) visit.     Bought a present for my mom's birthday.    Acquired three books from a certain used-books store. *wink,    wink* These are a few of the reasons that I didn't post every day in the last half of the past week and I am so glad that they are done and out of the way. Unfortunately, I didn't finish my school goals today but that was because my whole family and I went shopping for pretty much the whole day. It was totally exhausting. A few things for you to look forward to this week are: 1. A post talking...

I Must Tell You

Image
Guess what? I am now a part of the Mizbooks Media Blog Tour Team. That means I can get free books in exchange for reviews. I am so excited! Bad news is I'm really, really  sick. I caught some type of flu :( and it's been pretty rough so far. When I hold my hand out, it shakes really bad. Which is so wrong.  Anyways, I'm writing this because it might be a couple days before I can write an interesting, normal-length post. My school starts back up this Monday (I am in denial) and let's face it  after long vacations. So I have an extremely painful headache and I'm gonna finish here. Have an awesome day/night/afternoon, etc.
