Summer 2017 Art Things

Image
Yiiiikes, hey everybody. It's been two whole months since my last post. ðŸ˜Ÿ Woops. I have been staying really busy this summer, and it's been busyness with art or design type stuff as opposed to my other college summers where I stayed cooped up in my room and took online classes or studied for exams. I like the change of pace. If you're interested in finding out what the mysterious and vague "art or design type stuff" is, then I won't disappoint. Keep reading! Stay Bookish Zine I don't think I've talked about this on the blog (I HAVE on my twitter though, which is where you can keep up to date with it). The Stay Bookish Zine was started by Hazel Ureta of Stay Bookish. I think I randomly saw a tweet from another current staff member about an open application for staffing an e-magazine last winter. They needed graphic designers and I was like "aw yeah, a magazine that combines YA and design, like this is mah dream." So I applied...

JANUARY RECAP

Image
The last half of this month has kind of been a whirlwind...moving back to school, organizing everything again , getting into the routine of five classes (two of which are 3 hours each). It's probably life making up for the first half of the month in which I was shamefully lazy and did nothing.     Instructions for Flight by Kate I. Foley  🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 ( review here , but  👌) The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West  🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 ( 💗 I love it SO much ) On the Fence by Kasie West  🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 (TBH this was leaning more towards 3 but relatable guy problems yo) It wasn't a big reading month. I guess I've been going through a slump and nothing really interests me (except YA contemporaries *gasp*). Or else I don't have the energy/attention span to sit down and actually read a book. One of the delights of being a lot more anxious and stressed out at school. Sometimes, okay most of the time, I'd rather watch YouTube or the latest TV series...

June Recap

Image
Hi, peeps. June has come to an end. The whole summer is passing way to fast in my humble opinion but at least some really cool things happened this month. I went to Taiwan for a couple weeks, I helped out the honors program at my college as a Big Sib for a little while... aaand now I'm back to studying for an exam. Which kind of ends up on the not cool side of things but eh.  Who can tell. If it helps me gain 8 credits I'm up for it ;) I'm SOO happy because do you know how many books I read this month??? NINE. I haven't read that many books in a month in aaages. I feel so accomplished.   And even better, all of the books were pretty good. There was nothing below three stars which I call a win.  The Emperor's Edge Series (Books 1-7) by Lindsay Buroker. This only links to the first book! (one of the best imo) Yes, I binge-read a whole series. No, I'm not sorry. ^^ One of the three-star books was in this one but the rest were...

6 Steps to Conquering a New Semester (Kpop Style)

Image
Since I've been back at school for a week and seeing as how Kpop's such a huge part of my life now (as you probably have noticed in my song section of recaps hehe), I thought I'd incorporate it into one of my posts in a fun way. *grins* This way I get to talk about Kpop without totally losing you non-kpoppers. ;)  Welcome to my Back to School: VIXX Edition  post!  For those of you who don't know, VIXX is my favorite Kpop (that is Korean pop music) group ever. My favorite member is the cocky one who raps and... At this point you're probably rolling your eyes because everybody *cough* parents *cough* has told you this SO MANY TIMES.  But I'm here to tell you... being organized actually helps. Like a lot. I am normally a very unorganized, scatter-brained person but at school I have tons of things going on. Things with scary deadlines. Things that I have to carefully set up around each other.  So, be organized. I promised...
