HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY TO MOI | Part II (Picture Reveal!)

Image
Heyyy. I just got back from Taiwan a couple days ago, which would explain why I haven't gotten around to replying to comments yet, and I'm still SO jetlagged and urngh. BUT, it was awesome and there will be a post to come. ^^ The important thing now is that this is part two, the part where I reveal what the gifts actually look like hehe. (I would have done this earlier but I posted the actual giveaway post while in Taiwan and I hadn't loaded pictures up and it was a mess).  I seriously love this book SO much, it's probably the  book that got me into steampunk, and I can't believe more people haven't read it. And also you know spread the word about my giveaway and try to win it yourself ;) a Rafflecopter giveaway Here are the pictures you probably were the most curious about :) This is the stationery pack in completion and, yes, there are actually two things from Taiwan. The adorable dessert notebook (it has white pages wit...

HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY TO MOI | Part I

I am three!! Well, not me, but this blog. Life of a Random is THREE YEARS OLD. Already. Gosh time has passed so fast, and I have loved every minute. What does this mean?? It means talking about how this blog was born (pretty much void of flair tbh), cool graphics, and *regal pause* GIVEAWAYS. YEAH. MULTIPLE ONES. No, actually it's super boring. Probably the most boring, not-interesting blog origin story ever. And here it is: One day I woke up. It was a regular day. Nothing really happening. And I made a blog. Please pause to take this in. Tadah! Okaaay well it might have been a little more complex than that but I'm not lying when I say that's the basic story. The longer, extended version is this: I had already been reading a lot of blogs and learning about the community (but not the YA community yet) so I knew about it and thought it was super cool. I also really wanted/needed an outlet for my thoughts that I knew people could read. I wanted...

Airplanes and Sky

Remember when I talked about big travel things that I was going to do this summer? THE TIME. HAS. COME. IT IS HERE. YAY. As you can probably tell, I'm just a little excited. Me and my family are headed to Taiwan this summer for my uncle's wedding and since plane trips aren't really a regular thing for us, it'll be awesome.  If you know me even a little bit, you know that I love  traveling and gosh I'm just so excited to be able to be in and see another culture for a little while. *happy dance* Another reason I'm writing this is to tell you about how I get ready for major trips and whatever little tips I use to make traveling easier. Maybe they'll help you in a future trip. ^^ Any trip needs music, but especially one where there are multiple long layovers and a hugely long flight over the Pacific Ocean. I've been updating the music on my phone (music helps me sleep so much better too), which is fun and boring at the sa...

Review // Death Sworn

' I have been wanting to read this forever, EVEN HAD IT ON MY KINDLE, and just now read it. I feel so bad because this book was pretty friggin good.  WHAT IS THIS: When Ileni lost her magic, she lost everything: her place in society, her purpose in life, and the man she had expected to spend her life with. So when the Elders sent her to be magic tutor to a secret sect of assassins, she went willingly, even though the last two tutors had died under mysterious circumstances. But beneath the assassins’ caves, Ileni will discover a new place and a new purpose… and a new and dangerous love. She will struggle to keep her lost magic a secret while teaching it to her deadly students, and to find out what happened to the two tutors who preceded her. But what she discovers will change not only her future, but the future of her people, the assassins… and possibly the entire world.   (pros)   I gotta tell you, the expectations for a book about assassins ...

HI E'ERBODY

I'm baaaack. WOOP. Actually, I've been done with school for a week but I've still stayed busy with moving out of my apartment for the summer, trying to fit all my stuff back  into my parents' house (impossible. it's impossible. we have like three couches and a bed in our living room), and getting some much-needed R&R.  But never fear, I'm going to be blogging regularly again. I'm super sorry for the rocky blogging since I started college. I still need to figure out a rhythm and a niche that suits my new busier schedule I guess :(  (I'm super happy with how long I was able to blog pretty regularly throughout this semester though) Again, regular posts are coming... this is just a HEY LOOK I'M ALIVE AND IT'S SUMMER. It's a wonder I'm still alive with all the amazing Kpop music videos that have been released one. after. the other. Like um yes, I do enjoy watching Hoshi performing with his serious face thank you.  So, ...

It's a Random Day {6}

So, I got my ish together and went and checked to see what number of "It's a Random Day" posts I was actually at . I haven't done as many as I thought I had. This must be remedied.  I seem to write all these posts at the times when I least  need to be doing them and doing other things, productive things like say, finish reading my history book or studying for my Mass Communications exam tomorrow.  But, instead, let me tell you about all the extremely exciting things that happened today (by extremely I mean not. I was being sarcastic. Sometimes I'm so dryly sarcastic that my friends at college don't know if I'm for real or not.) School-wise.... it hasn't been extremely gross I guess. But kinda blegh. I'm having a hard time getting into the groove with my design project (would you like a post about my design process at some point? sorry, really random. going back to the topic...), I'm kind of just done with clay at the mom...

Like the title of this thing I'm starting, it isn't really supposed to make sense.  These posts will be my musing I guess. Random thoughts that pop in my head that I think I should write down or things that I have been thinking about a long time and just now figured out how to say it.  These musings will be accompanied by pictures sometimes, and sometimes not. It isn't meant to be a link-up. I just wanted to make a picture for it because I'm artsy like that and I like visual things :D (Also, sorry for kind of dropping off the face of the blog. I think I'm not going to be able to blog regularly until after school ends for the semester.) ~~~~ You can compare your situation with somebody else's and say, "Wow, my life isn't as bad as I thought it was. I have it much better off than that person." That doesn't mean that your problems are invalid. That doesn't mean you don't have a right to be upset or hurt or conf...
