Review: Hex Hall

Image
I'm just running around in frantic disbelief, wonder, book hangover-ishness because I have read Cruel Beauty. How do I describe the pain? Ah, but not now. That's for a different post, a whole review one to be specific, where I will expound and blabber all about that beautiful book. Not really relevant to this post, buut I had to get it out. Also, I recently did a guest post at Bunnita's book blog, Worth Reading It? , which if you want you can check out here . It's a Top Ten Books of 2014 piece wherein I kinda, sorta tried to explain my deep love for certain books."Tried" is the key word. ;) Now you probably hadn't guessed this by the way I'm darting off into all kinds of topics but this is a review post so I present *drumroll* the review. Publication Date: February 1, 2011 Publisher: Disney-Hyperion Pages: 323 Source: Library Format: Paperback Series: Hex Hall #1 Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It...

(Expecting) Failure Is Not an Option

Lots of people say that the internet is not a personal place. It's not a place you should treat like your personal journal. And I agree, to a certain point. I don't share personal garbage on Facebook because I don't believe in telling people about my problems. Buuut, heart-to-hearts are good for the soul and once in a while I need to express myself with words by writing them because I say everything better that way. And because I feel like maybe...maybe they could help someone else too. I was thinking a few nights ago, somewhere between contemplating The Revised Life of Ellie Sweet and my future college life, about how I unknowingly set myself up for failure sometimes. I honestly discovered something about myself that I didn't realize before. And I wanted to share it with you. Don't run away scared now *grins* I promise, you can handle Selena in serious mode (hopefully). I've never thought of myself as a person who sets herself up for failure. I thought ...

No, I do not condone stalking/pursuing a guy who really doesn't deserve your effort in the first place. BUT this is a retelling. I like retellings. I'm also not that knowledgeable about Shakespeare so I don't really have the knowledge to tell if this is an accurate retelling or not, so I thought I'd feature it. Have fun checking it out! Back Between Pages

I am now back into my regular reading and posting swing so I'm going to catch you all up on what's been going on in my world. Juliet Immortal by Stacey Jay I've already read this! I finished it and decided that I absolutely had to own it. It's a hauntingly beautiful read with the best ending ever. It's about Romeo and Juliet, except, now . In our time. In other words, AWESOMESAUCE.   Amplified by Tara Kelly Cover. Look at that COVER. Please, take your time. ;) Besides that...I, um, vaguely remembered seeing it before and thinking it sounded interesting. It's about a girl joining an all-guy band. And rooming with them. Interesting? I think so. Entice (Need #3) by Carrie Jones I bought Captivate (the second book in the series) a while ago and loved it. The whole pixie thing in our modern world was so interesting, and it totally helped that the main character Zara was completely awesome.  I'm reading a few books right now if "a few" m...

Along with her best friend, Sam, and the school’s resident Bad Boy, Chase, Hartley starts investigating on her own. But as the dead bodies begin to pile up, the mystery deepens, the suspe...
