Blogalicious

First of all, I know I haven't posted in a while, but I have actually been writing posts. I just haven't had the chance to put them up. :( So here are the posts of three days, including today. Needless to say, this post is going to be very  long. 9/20/'13 I feel like I should document my "dual-enrollment journey" (geeze that sounds fancy) for you all, because I don't know....I would probably find it an interesting thing to read about on someone else's blog, but I'm weird. So I'm conflicted about this. First of all, I'm am one of the quietest people in my class. One of them. Not the  quietest. Please note that fact on a piece of paper. I'm just joking, you don't have to. *stares into your eyes evilly* But I would like it if you did.  Second of all, I have actually talked to the teacher (thrice), answered a question in class (twice), and interacted with one or more fellow students. I have bravely tried to work past my introver...

Book Imagine

Image
I started this post a couple days ago and have been working on it little by little, so it's gonna be a mix of thoughts from at least two different days. Hope it's not confusing :) On a COMPLETELY different note, the weather is so gorgeous today! It's sunny, but there's a cool breeze. And *sigh*, it's days like these that make me want to hug the universe. Sorry, weird I know. Lol. First of all, I just counted how many books(fiction) I have in my bookcase right now-- 125. And that's not even counting extras that I don't really like or don't want to read for a while. I think I'm well I'm my way to the home "library" I've always wanted, huh. ;) UPDATE: I NOW HAVE 131 BOOKS DUE TO A RECENT BOOK STORE VISIT ;) WHAT CAN I SAY? THEY CALL TO ME. AND THEY'RE CHEAP. THERE'S THAT TOO. Looking at the rows of books in my bookcase, I thought, "How the heck would I decide which ones to bring if I had to live overseas for a year o...

20 Tips For Teenage Girls (Pt. 2)

I realize that some of these can apply to teens/people in general, but I like the title. Okay? Great. Now we've got that settled. :D 1. Things-You-Must-Have-In-Your-Purse-At-All-Times: chap stick, a pen, a little notepad (or something like that), and extra hair things (hair ties...whatever you wanna call them. Am I the only one who hates using rubber-bands on my hair? It just feels like strands of my hair are pulling off one by one when I try to take it out). Of course, some of these essentials change as the seasons do, but these are the very  basic. 2. Always make sure you have at least ten bucks in your wallet. I hardly ever use my "stash cash" because I have no social life and I spend loads of time with my sister and parents and they  have a credit card ;). But it can come in handy. Like if you run into a store with a cash/check-only policy. 3. This is not completely necessary, but you've got to have at least one pair of boots in your closet. Seriously. How c...

First College Class

I think the title pretty much explains itself. I was extremely  nervous. I didn't just have butterflies in my stomach, I had a whole herd of buffalo or something. Buuut, it went alright. I acted like I thought I would, translation-- a total introvert. The teacher was good, she explained things clearly and she was funny. There are a total of 20 students in my class, varying from older middle-aged to just a little older than me. I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest there, and having not gone to any local schools, knew nobody. Yeah. But I'm actually okay with that. So I'm just gonna let you look at my day (or night. It was an evening class) through pictures and funny(hopefully) explanations. Here's what I took to class: My books-  duh  (I am very freaked out about a possible essay  I might have to write for the whole book of Ender's Game) Some other things I took were: A couple pens and pencils, a bottle of water, and a notebook. I never opened the bottle o...

20 Tips For Teenage Girls (Pt. 1)

I am so  sorry for not posting in ages. I'm gonna blame school ;)  1. Start a blog like mwah. You'll have fun designing it, coming up with a cool name, and looking at the stats at the end of the month. (although there is the possibility of having zero followers, also like me) 2. Join an online art community. There are tons of them, and most of them cost zilch to join. If you don't have anything to put up, no worries. You can use your account to comment and favorite. And moan about how you'll never be as good as any of the artists. Yes, I speak from personal experience. 3. Dig into your family's history. It is  hard to do because lots of the best sites require a monthly subscription. I, having no income, cannot afford it. If you don't have an income either, avoid sites like Ancestry.com, because they will tantalize you with just enough facts (that line up with your family facts) so that you're way too excited for your own good, then slap you in the...

Test Results

Image
I took my Compass exam today around lunch time. If you've never heard of it, it's a college-qualifying exam that you can take in the place of a regular standardized entrance exam. My test had three parts: reading, writing, and math. It took me about an hour and forty minutes to do everything (including checking things twice). AND I DID GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very happy with the results. I was so happy at my local community college that I smiled at strangers *gasp*. I then went outside and called my mom so she could come pick me up. Right after that my dad called and I told him the awesome news. :) (Sorry. I can't stop smiling...Even virtually) I really had to go bathroom then (after sitting in the test room for a while), but I didn't want to go back inside because the guy at the front desk had just said "congratulations!" and given me my papers and stuff. And it might be awkward if I came back in like five minutes later just to go bathroom. Yes, I k...

Shadowhunters

I discovered the world of the Shadowhunters (I'm sorry but am I the only one, out of all you who have watched the movie trailer, who imagines Madame Dorothea's voice saying it every  time?) after I saw the trailer for the movie (City of Bones: The Mortal Instruments). And boy did I get into something. Reading these books are like stepping into a whole nother world for me where Nephilim teenage girls and guys my age fight to protect humans (or mundanes) from demons and mundanes discover hidden gifts and ancient runes drawn on skin protect and heal. Gahh! I can't even begin  to describe how awesome it is. And then when I reach the last page (and read it twice, by the way), I sort of absent-mindedly flip through the rest of the pages: the acknowledgements, the historical notes, the author's note. And I'm in a daze for the rest of the day just running over the events again and again. I've read books 1-3 in the Mortal Instruments series and book 1 of the Infernal...
